Removes:
- Chlorine
- Heavy metals
- Organic and inorganic contaminants
Additional Benefits: a cleaner bath tub (the filter reduces lime scale, mold, and mildew deposits)
Dimensions: 4" diameter
How does it work?: Water enters the filter medium, which is made of a copper-zinc alloy. Within each granule of the alloy, the copper becomes the cathode; the zinc the anode. The spaces in between become electrolytic cells; the water and its contaminants act as electrolytes. As water passes through the media, zinc and copper hydroxides form in controlled amounts. These controlled hydroxide releases are carried into the filtered water to kill bacteria and propvide hostile conditions for algae and fungus growth.
The give-and-take of electrons during filtration changes contaminants into harmless components, or it electroplates them to the media, thus changing or removing them.
