The bath ball is easy to install. Simply place the strap around your bath tub spout and test to ensure that the water flow is aligned with the bath ball.
You can expect one filter to filter effectively for approximately 26,000 gallons of water, or about one year. This bath ball is easy to refill with a replacement filter cartridge (sold separately).
Filter Media: KDF is a patented technology for fluid purification. It is a nonhazardous material that remains active longer than other media (e.g. carbon).
Flow Rate: 4-5 gallons per minute
Dimensions: 4" diameter
How does it work?: Water enters the filter medium, which is made of a copper-zinc alloy. Within each granule of the alloy, the copper becomes the cathode; the zinc the anode. The spaces in between become electrolytic cells; the water and its contaminants act as electrolytes. As water passes through the media, zinc and copper hydroxides form in controlled amounts. These controlled hydroxide releases are carried into the filtered water to kill bacteria and propvide hostile conditions for algae and fungus growth.
The give-and-take of electrons during filtration changes contaminants into harmless components, or it electroplates them to the media, thus changing or removing them.
